I am Nicolas Boissonneau. I am 25 years-old and come from France, more specifically from the Bordeaux area. My family has owned a winery in this region since 1839. I have grown up in the middle of the vines. What could I say to my parents? Thanks! They passed along their passion for wine to me.
They let me discover another thing when I was 4 years old: Judo* (meaning “gentle way”). Judo is a modern Japanese martial art (gendai budō) and combat sport that originated in Japan in the late nineteenth century. It is my second passion and I still practice it in competition. I also have a teaching degree in Judo that allows me to easily pass this passion to others, which is very important to me.
I received a Master’s Degree in Management and International Business of Wine at the University of Avignon, located in the South of France. During my wine business education, I explored several countries in Europe and Eastern Europe. My passion for Asia, through my love of Judo, brought me to discover China and its secrets in 2007.
In July 2008, the Robert Skalli family, leading wine producers in the South of France, gave me an exciting opportunity. I became the Skalli Brand Ambassador in the USA. I am actually representing a portfolio of wines from the South of France: Robert Skalli (South of France), Maison Bouachon (Chateauneuf du Pape), Fortant and Fortant Kosher, and Clos Poggiale (Corsica).
I am discovering the United States of America and at the same time America is discovering the South of France.
