.
The Skalli family is a big supporter of the arts.  As you may have noticed on the Robert Skalli wine bottle, there is a sculpted spiral.  The “ligne indeterminee” is the work of artist Bernar Venet.  In English, the piece means “neverending line”.  It is symbolic of the phliosophy of Robert Skalli in that he is on an unending quest to make great wine.  There is always something to improve, learn and enhance to capture the essence of the South of France in a bottle of Robert Skalli wine. Here in the United States, we have started to support a wonderful organization called GenArt– “the leading arts and entertainment organization dedicated to showcasing emerging fashion designers, filmmakers, musicians and visual artists.” Select art openings will feature Skalli wines.  I just attend a fabulous showing for artist AKIO in New York City.  Yes, it’s a new foray into the NYC ‘art’ circle and it’s amazing to see people so passionate with creativity.  I liken art to that of making wine….it’s an art in and of itself, non?  Bon weekend!

Town Hall in San Francisco ;-)

You can recognize part of the San Francisco dream team with Nick (aka Greeky),  Jen and Alex. However there is no Frenchy croissant on the table; next time I will be there!!!  Either way, I’m glad the party goes on without me because a dinner with some Maison Bouachon is a guaranteed good time.

It looks like everyone is enjoying their glass of Maison Bouachon Gigondas, what a wonderful wine!!  You can enjoy it too!  You can find our Maison Bouachon Gigondas by the glass at Town Hall in downtown San Francisco.

Fortant, a la Calvin Klein? Who said that self-promotion isn’t good for business??? I was able to take this picture during a ‘very’ private tasting organized last week in New York by a group of wine connoisseurs. All of them gave very good tips, by the way.

I let them discover the pleasure of Skalli wines from the South of France with this beautiful Fortant Cabernet Sauvignon. Ok I have to explain my dress or “no” dress. The weather around the Mediterranean sea is very hot and we have a lot of beaches. Because I could not bring sand nor sea, I had to rely on my creativity and used myself and my wines to demonstrate what it is like to be in the South of France. There’s no better way to showcase the hot, beachy weather of the South of France than being in my swim trunks.

Do you also want a private tasting? Call me at 707-XXX-4XX0!!!!

By the way I was just kidding but it could be an idea, non? It’s Friday and this is just a fun way to kick off the Memorial Day weekend.

Wines from the Languedoc offer value and quality. Guest blogger Pamela Busch, owner/sommelier of Cav Wine Bar in San Francisco shares her thoughts on the rediscovered gem in the South of France.

Do you remember Marvin? This nice Bistro & bar in DC I talked about few month ago?

I came back on another occasion and I had a wonderful time upstairs in the Rooftop. It’s the perfect place to hang out with your friends!!! They have a nice selection of beer but also wine. I was able to enjoy a glass of the Robert Skalli Pinot Noir from the island of Corsica. And now you can also enjoy another wine from the Skalli Family: Fortant Chardonnay (No-Oak Chardonnay, crisp, clean, fresh and fruity), perfect on a warm night.

You have a date or want to have dinner with your friends? No problem stay downstairs at Marvin Bistro. Save the Rooftop for later. The food of Chef James Claudio, with the cooperation of his General Manager Sheldon Scott, will charm you; the fried chicken with Belgian waffles is outstanding as also the mussels and fries!! The food is yummy and what you will pair with that? The Maison Bouachon Gigondas is available by the glass or you could choose from the wine list the Maison Bouachon Chateauneuf du Pape.

Enjoy an extremely comfortable atmosphere at Marvin with a glass of Skalli wines from the South of France!!
