In this Tuesday’s New Jersey Star-Ledger writer T. J. Foderaro recommends you try Clos Poggiale wines!  I concur! Check out the story! http://www.nj.com/insidejersey/index.ssf/2009/01/feb_09_wine_show_off.html

I was in Colorado in November and the weather was so different, sooo much warmer.  I’ve returned to the state, but the weather conditions are not similar.  Look at the video on this link: nicolasdiscoverscolorado

Cold no?

My distributor and I did a wonderful job last time in Western Colorado. People enjoyed our Skalli portfolio of wines from the South of France. I hope we will have the same succes this time and even better.

My roomate Francois’ birthday was on Thursday, January 22nd, so we did a small party but not too much because we had to work on Friday.

The real birthday party was last Saturday. We started in our apartment with some friends.  Francois works for Cognac Ferrand, which is a well know Cognac in the US. He developed his passion for cocktails and also making them, which even more interesting. But he did not have the right materials to make cocktails this night.  Too bad.

We ate at Cercle Rouge, a French bistro southwest of Manhattan. It was a great time!!!!  Pictures to come soon!

Yeahhh I just found this pairing so delicious! Duck Confit with cranberry beans, esacarole and allspice glaze was amazing paired with the Maison Bouachon Gigondas red  “Duc de Montfort”. The delicate flavors of candied, crunchy fruit mixed with the “garrigue” (Thyme, rosemary) enhanced the taste of the duck. My palate was so excited by the explosion of all these flavors.

Gigondas is an appellation in the southern Rhone and the Duc de Montfort displays strength and generosity at a good price.  Click on the link and go to the “shop” section to find the wine and learn more.

During my holidays in France I spent a weekend in the Pyrenees mountains, on the border between France and Spain. Good weather, nice snow, friends = perfect conditions to enjoy a weekend!!!!

My friends practiced ski and I snowboard. I started 10 years ago so I board pretty well even if sometimes I fall, usually when I jump.  There is a video somewhere.  If I find it I will show you I can fall perfectly. :D

Riding is excellent, but at night we can not practice anymore. My friends and I decided to organize a “Fondue”…. delicious!!! We paired our Fondue with the Maison Bouachon Chateauneuf du Pape “La Tiare du pape” 2005 and that was grrrrrrrrr. I can tell you after a Fondue you sleep soooo well
