Ah…thank you for the explanation. I often am curious of the history of American holidays. It’s nice to have a day off of work but the reason why is always interesting. Makes me more appreciative. Merci.

Labor day was a tribute made to all worker in the US. There was a time when laborers were not treated so well so help remedy the relations between the Government and laborers/labor unions, they created this holiday. On this day it commemorates the contributions all workers to strengthen and add to the well-being and prosperity of the US. Now it is more recognized as the marks of the end of summer. First day of school is usually the day after Labor Day. Hehehehe I hope that answers your question.
